Chief Edina Shanenawa

Shanenawa - Brazil

Chief Edina is from the Shanenawa people of the Brazilian Amazon. She is the daughter of the reveered pajé Shuayne, the oldest spiritual leader of the Shanenawa, who is 103 years old, and midwife Txira.. Both her parents are considered living libraries of indigenous wisdom. As the firstborn among her sisters, Edina inherited her father’s extensive knowledge and began her spiritual journey at the age of 10. Today, she serves as the chief of the Shane Tatxa Kaya village. Edina is also a dedicated healer who works with traditional forest medicines, continuing the rich heritage of her ancestors.

About

Chief Edina, a revered Shanenawa healer, offers spiritual consultations and healing through sacred tobacco and traditional forest medicine. Her work deeply connects with Mother Earth, the ancestors, and the spiritual realms, offering insight into the root causes of life’s challenges and guiding individuals toward healing and balance.

Chief Edina's consultations involve spiritual concentration, sacred chants, smudging and teachings from the forest. Each session is tailored to the participant, beginning with an in-depth conversation where she listens carefully to the issues shared. Based on the information provided, she can utilize sacred tobacco, medicinal songs, and/or dances to facilitate healing. This work is conducted through video calls, allowing Chief Edina to be both spiritually and visually present with the participant.

In some cases, additional ceremonies may be recommended depending on the complexity of the issue. These ceremonies are also conducted remotely through video, ensuring that the participant remains spiritually close during the process.

At the end of each session, Chief Edina provides guidance for home purification rituals, empowering individuals to cleanse their living spaces as part of their healing journey.

Beyond health and spiritual balance, her work extends to financial and relationship challenges, offering palm readings and path openings to bring clarity and direction.

Chief Edina also does work for kids.

Chief Edina also crafts protective bracelets and necklaces, infused with spiritual blessings. These lucky amulets are more than just art pieces; they carry healing energy and protection, supporting the wearer in their daily life.
