Woodland Hills, California
About
Join us for a ceremony to open and strengthen your voice. Ninawa Pai Da Mata of the Huni Kuin (Kaxinawá) people will be offering a traditional chili pepper ceremony this Thursday in Woodland Hills. The Huni Kuin, "True People" in their native tongue, are from Brazilian and Peruvian Amazon.
In this Hampaya ceremony, Ninawa will invoke the spirit of the Txana bird, a wise bird that can imitate the sounds of all the other birds and animals of the forest and is the best singer. He will apply crushed chili peppers to participants' tongues and share traditional prayers to invite the Txana spirit into each person. This allows the opening and strengthening of the participant's voice and memory, helping them sing, express themselves better, learn songs, etc.
This ceremony requires following a strict diet for a min of 3 days after : no meat, sweets, salty food, sex, alcohol, or drugs. Not even sweet-tasting fruit is allowed. The purpose is to take care of and maintain the energy bird within each person, and be able to embody it. Participants will also need to speak affirmatively and with a strong voice, no whispering, and keep the energy to oneself, no hugging or kissing anyone during the 3 days.
Space is very limited for this event, so please register as soon as possible.

Fundraiser: Novo Futuro village
We invite you to join us in supporting the Novo Futuro village, led by the Ninawa Pai Da Mata, a respected spiritual leader and healer of the Huni Kuin people. In the wake of devastating floods two years ago, the community has been tirelessly working to rebuild the village infrastructure. Your generous contributions will directly fund the construction of a new community kitchen and dining area, vital for hosting the village’s festivals and events. This space will not only nourish the Novo Futuro community and guests, but also foster communal bonds and cultural preservation.
Additionally, the community’s artesian water well, a crucial source of clean drinking water for the entire village, requires urgent maintenance. By donating, you are helping ensure that the Novo Futuro community has access to safe and reliable water.
Ninawa’s music and healing chants have touched hearts worldwide; now, we have the opportunity to give back and support his mission to sustain his people’s way of life. Join us in this effort to rebuild and strengthen Novo Futuro, honoring Ninawa’s legacy of love, humility, and deep connection to nature. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a significant impact.
